UPCOMING EVENTS
The McLuhan Year, marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Herbert Marshall McLuhan, is coming to a close. Rounding off the celebrations, we had the pleasure of welcoming a large audience to the second McLuminations event in October, moderated by Baruch Gottlieb and with the participation of McLuhan experts Martina Leeker and Steffi Winkler. The concluding lecture in this year’s McLuhan series was on the topic of McLuhan’s media practice delivered by Graham Larkin, who presented some interesting finds from the McLuhan archives of Library and Archives Canada. Reports on the events and interesting links can be found on our website under Marshall McLuhan Collection.
Next year the Marshall McLuhan Salon will once again host exhibitions in connection with transmediale, the international media art festival held in Berlin. Between January 31 and February 5, 2012, the work of Canadian artist Jeremy Bailey will feature in the Marshall McLuhan Salon. During the Berlinale film festival from February 9 to 19, Canadian artists will be the guests of the Marshall McLuhan Salon as part of the Forum Expanded section of the festival.
Up-to-date-information about all upcoming events can be found under News and Events.
